Logistics

When will my home be cleaned?

Our standard service hours are Monday thru Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If necessary, we may do a move-out clean on a weekend, but all recurring service is done during our normal days and hours.

Will my house be cleaned on the same day & time every time?

Yes! We assign you a specific day and time slot which is yours exclusively. We do ask that you allow us a 1-hour window to allow for unknown incidentals such as traffic, weather, etc.

Do I have to be home when you clean?

That is up to you and what you feel comfortable with.  Most clients clear out of the house when we’re there to clean.  If you would like to stay the first time or two when we’re there to feel more comfortable, then of course, you are more than welcome to do so.

How do you handle accessing my home?

We understand your comfort and security is important.  Many clients give us a door or garage code for entry.  Some give us a copy of a key.  Each key is given a number and kept safe in a locked box, so names and addresses are never on them for your security.  The manner you decide to use is completely up to you. 

Will the same people clean my home every time?

 We understand it feels vulnerable letting new people in your home. While we cannot guarantee the same cleaning specialists forever, we will do whatever we can to keep them consistent. Eventually, they may transition to new ones, and at times, someone requests the day off, so a replacement may be necessary. And we’ll always let you know beforehand.

Will my home be cleaned on holidays?

We strive to keep your schedule consistent whenever possible.  The only holidays which we will re-arrange your set cleaning day for are Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day.  If your normal cleaning day falls on a holiday, we will do what we can to reschedule you to another day that week.  We appreciate your flexibility!

What about my Pets?

One of the best parts of the job is the new furry friends we get to meet! We love animals and don’t mind working around them.  However, if your pet is prone to running out the door, we ask you to take precautions in securing them before we come.  Also, for our safety and peace of mind while providing you service, we ask that if your dog tends to be aggressive or in any way unpredictable, the pet be removed from the areas we will be cleaning.

The Nitty Gritty

Do I have to provide anything?

No, you don’t have to provide a thing except for a toilet brush in the bathrooms to prevent cross contamination.  We bring all supplies needed, including a Shark vacuum and a steam mop.

What products do you use to clean?

We strive to clean as naturally as possible and avoid toxic chemicals.  Some things we commonly use are vinegar and baking soda, dishsoap and essential oils. Other products we use are Method® Lavender All-purpose Cleaner, Method® Almond Oil Wood Cleaner, Granite Gold® for counters, Weiman® Leather Conditioner, Weiman® Stainless Steel Polish, and Bar keeper’s friend.

Do I have to do anything prior to you coming to clean?

Picking up loose items around the home such as clothing, toys, papers and clutter on the counters as much as possible is ideal so that we are able to do our job efficiently and thoroughly.  If surfaces have excessive clutter, your cleaning specialists will not be able to clean your home as thoroughly as we’d both prefer!

Do you have a service guarantee?

We certainly do!  We take pride in being the best in our industry and hold our cleaning specialists to our high standards. If you are ever dissatisfied, call us within 24 hours of your cleaning and we will come back out to make it right at no extra cost to you.

What if something is damaged in my home?

Essence of Clean is fully insured for liability to your home. We are all human so accidents are bound to occur, however, we treat every home with the utmost respect and caution.  If by chance something is broken then we will leave you a note and make arrangements to replace the item or pay for it. 

What payment options do you offer?

We keep a credit card on file and automatically charge it the day of your cleaning, so you don’t have to do a thing!  Your credit card is securely processed through Stripe. Then you’ll receive a statement at the end of the service month for your records.

Do I have to sign a contract?

While we do have you sign a service agreement to agree to conditions of the service provided, we never require anyone to be locked into any duration of service.  Most of our clients have kept us on for many years, we want you to stay with us because you’re happy, not because you are forced to.  It is important to us to maintain a mutually positive relationship with our clients and that this is the best fit on both sides. 

Can I trust your company?

We understad how important it is to feel you can trust the service company you choose to work with.  Essence of Clean has been in business since 2009, is licensed by the city, is a registered LLC with the State of Washington, fully insured and bonded. All of our employees are hand selected, fully vetted, background checked and rigorously trained.

Additionally, we have won multiple awards for service and belong to local as well as national organizations for professional house cleaning, AHCA.

We are committed to giving back to our community in various ways, including donating cleanings to those in need as well as for women going through cancer treatment.
